Understanding Community Needs

Union Fraternelle de Camp-Perrin (UFCP) supports the community of Camp-Perrin, located in the southwestern region of Haiti.

Camp-Perrin is located in the southwestern part of Haiti.
It is approximately 180 miles from the capital city, Port-au-Prince.
As of 2010, the population reached 71,168.
The population is unevenly distributed across three districts.
The main health facility, built in 1982, is located in the first district.
There are no major healthcare facilities serving residents in the second and third districts.
Malaria, typhoid, and hepatitis are among the most recurrent diseases affecting these areas.
UFCP’s project focuses on the second municipal district and will ultimately serve between 30,000 and 50,000 people.
A 1,400 m² facility is currently under construction to house essential healthcare services.

UFCP Clinic Goals

To provide basic healthcare services and information that meet local community needs.
To serve as a hub for health education and awareness, promoting healthy living.
To function as an information and resource center for educational and community organizations.
To offer field training and social service opportunities for students in medicine, social sciences, and related disciplines.
To serve as a demonstration site for communities and healthcare providers, supporting public health education, nutrition initiatives, disease prevention programs, and overall well-being.
